This is the 5th Miss Asia Pacific International crown for the Philippines (others were Maria del Carmen Ines Zaragoza in 1982, Gloria Dimayacyac in 1983, Lorna Legaspi in 1989, Michelle Aldana in 1993)

The 50th Anniversary of Miss Asia Pacific International was held last October 4 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
