The Queen Isabela Pageant is part of this year's Bambanti Festival in the Province of Isabela.

"Bambanti!" is an Ilocano term for "scarecrow" referring to stick figures or bust figures hoisted on fields to fend birds, pests, and threats to growing rice and corn plants.  Often dressed in scary tatters and colourful hand-me-downs, Bambanti exhibits the best about Isabela: it's imposing beginnings, intense growth, and imminent dazzling future.

The Bambanti Festival is stately symbol for the Isabela farmer's diligence and resoluteness to earn his keep, feed his family, and produce for his community.  It is a reminder of his enduring spirit and his creativity.  For Isabela, the Bambanti's towering presence is a reminder of the key that propelled Isabeleños to self-sufficiency and national economic prominence.  It serves, likewise, as a directional sign pointing towards further greatness - Isabela's dream future as a premier agro-industrial hub in the Pacific.

The annual highlights of the festival are the Giant Bambanti and the Agro-Ecotourism Booth Contests situated within the Bambanti Village, Street Dance Competition and Search for Bambanti King & Queen.

This year's Bambanti Festival theme: ISABELA, PAGHARAP TUNGO SA BAGONG HAMON NG KINABUKASAN.
